“Karma / Back Alley Woman”

Latest release tells two stories about two women not to be trifled with. Beginning with “Karma” which personifies retribution as a woman who always gets her due. Backed with “Back Alley Woman” which dives into the life of a fearless seductress with nothing to lose, and absolutely no shame in taking what she wants.

Written and performed by East Valley Road. Featuring guitarist Cameron Nichoson (track one). Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Noah Bruskin. Recorded at Alan Parsons’ ParSonics Studio in Goleta, California, June and December 2024. Cover artwork courtesy of Farm To Frames, captured by a vintage portrait photographer Richard Barnitz who works with a homemade Conley box camera from 1906.

“Devil’s Dance / Should’ve Known”

“Devil’s Dance” is a dark, poetic descent into the mind of someone trapped in the cycle of addiction, where the desire to get clean crashes endlessly against the unchanging walls of the self. Set entirely within the confines of a single, dimly lit room, the video blurs reality and hallucination as time folds in on itself and escape feels like a dream just out of reach. Shadows of the band flicker across the walls, miming and performing not for her, but at her—manifestations of her own tormenting thoughts, a private concert of demons that refuse to let her rest. Backed with “Should’ve Known,” a southern-tinged heartbreak anthem that has become of the band’s live staples.

Written and performed by East Valley Road. Featuring electric organist and pianist Ed Roth. Produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Noah Bruskin. Recorded at Alan Parsons’ ParSonics Studio in Goleta, California, June 2024. Creative direction, cinematography, photography and styling by Stella Jane. Starring actress and model Faith Hines.
